Perhaps the favorite application in ARIES is the “CAD on the Wall” which allows users to read large projected Google Maps of the region on the wall and see 911 events that are happening immediately.
AUTO PROBABLE CAUSE DECLARATION
The logistics of probable cause declarations emanating from arresting officers, then submitting a detailed document including and extensive narrative to a duty judge on a 24×7 basis was time consuming and stressful for all parties involved.

Data are entered once by the arresting agencies and the data are inherited automatically in the other applications. The system operates on a secure, closed Intranet and is managed by the IT department of the County.
WHY HRI?
- Hunter Research, Inc. (HRI) is a system integrator of nearly 40 years creating custom applications for public and private clients. After the tragic 9/11 disaster, HRI “connected the dots” for 104 law enforcement agencies in 5 counties who now can query each other’s CAD, RMS, JMS, License Plates, etc., to identify and locate persons of interest.
- HRI evaluated what 58 California counties had accomplished in their first two years of the AB109 “realignment” process as selected state prisoners were reassigned to county jails and probation supervision.
- HRI interviewed many of the larger agencies in California to determine their “readiness” to convert FBI reporting systems from the UCR to the NIBRS standard. Detailed reports were written for the agencies.
- HRI has performed projects for the governor’s office in 35 states in the nation and recently provided assessments and system designs for the states of Ohio (Statewide Probation system), Delaware (Conversion of mainframe probation system to relational databases), Colorado (Linking jail health systems to community health systems for a “continuity of care” approach for individual inmates), South Dakota (Linking all counties to a statewide records system).
- HRI has converted jail data from legacy mainframe systems to more modern, flexible systems for Alameda County, CA, San Mateo County, CA, Contra Costa County, CA, and is presently doing the same for Sacramento County, CA and Orange County, CA making sure the jail staff can move forward with more labor saving systems having their legacy data intact.
